The only assistance that is requested at this time is heavy equipment. Anyone able to offer vehicles or equipment should call the city Office of Emergency Management at (212)-477-3574 or -3598 or visit the NYC.gov equipment donation page."

Operation Helping Hand, a coordinated effort by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Mayor's Action Bureau begins operation on Friday, September 14. Located at City Hall (280 Grove Street), Room 105, the center will be open from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM every day until further notice. The Lincoln Tunnel and George Washington Bridge are open, although ID checks may be conducted. The Holland Tunnel remains closed to inbound NYC traffic other than emergency vehicles.
